You're Beautiful-James Blunt (Interesting Ideas within the video)

This video is set on a snowy cliff and is set whilst its winter time. It features the artist singing about a girl who he saw and commits suicide. The genre is said to be soft rock, such a simple setting and narrative with a powerful moral.

  •  The video features many close-ups of the artist as he sings directly to the camera which gives the audience the impression that they are the girl that hes fallen in love with. The close-up makes the audience share a connection with the artist.

  •  As the artist sings he begins to take his clothes off and he looks up to the sky. This shot symbolizes seagulls circling above him leaving the audience to think that there is a hidden purpose for this.

  •  This shot illustrates the artists clothes all gone in this cold winter day leaving the audience to wonder why he took his clothes off.

  • The artist takes his belongings out of his pockets and this is a close-up his belongings all lined up neatly in a row. This shot is significant as it gives the audience the impression that the artist only owned these items and nothing else. It also gives an intriguing reaction as to what he is about to do next, after he had just stripped out of his clothes and removed his belongings from his pocket. The viewers could only assume that he is about to commit suicide.
  • This shot is the aftermath of the artist committing suicide. Whilst this shot is being displayed on screen the lyrics "but its time to face the truth, I will never be with you" are sung which implies that the artist had accepted that he couldn't be with the one he loved so he thought he had nothing to lose.
